How It All Started
Julie Sanfilippo
Partner & Technical Design Director
Julie Sanfilippo, Cedar House Design Collective co-founder, brings her industrial design expertise and eye for detail honed through roles at the Boston Aquarium and Hasbro. With education from Yale and RISD, she leads drafting, construction plans, project planning, and execution to ensure seamless results reflecting each client’s vision.
Julie’s creativity extends to her own home—a historic 1800s farmhouse that she and her husband have lovingly made their own. As a mother of a tween, a teen, and two lively dogs, she knows firsthand how to create spaces that are both beautiful and practical for real family living. When she’s not designing, you’ll find Julie tending to her garden, working out, skiing, or traveling the world with her family. And of course, she loves to unwind with a well-deserved glass of wine— always bringing a thoughtful, balanced approach to every project.

Erika Twohig
Partner & Creative Design Director
Erika Twohig’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for interiors led her to co-found Cedar House Design Collective. With a business degree from Bryant University and experience managing large brand portfolios, Erika now leads the creative vision, material sourcing, furniture layouts, budgeting, and client relationships for Cedar House’s projects. Inspired by coastal New England, she crafts awe-inspiring interiors that resonate with each client’s lifestyle.
Outside of work, Erika is a mom to a tween, a teen, and a sweet-though slightly anxious-boxer girl. She loves working on her colonial home, cooking (and eating!), crafting cocktails and smoothies, and hosting gatherings for family and friends. In her downtime, you’ll likely find her curled up with a good book by the water or laughing with her husband. Fall is her favorite season, with its cozy vibes that inspire much of her design work.
