How It All Started
Cedar House began in 2018 as a collaborative design studio rooted in a shared passion for beautiful, livable homes.
What started as a small design practice has grown into a trusted partner for homeowners throughout coastal New England and beyond — working closely with clients, architects, and builders on renovations, new construction, and full-home furnishings.
Over the years, Cedar House has developed a reputation for bringing both creative vision and thoughtful structure to the design process, helping clients move from ideas and inspiration to homes that truly support the way they live.
Today, the firm is led by Founder & Principal Erika Twohig, who continues to guide the creative direction and client experience at Cedar House.

Erika leads the creative vision and client experience at Cedar House, guiding homeowners through the design process from the earliest concepts to the final layers that bring a home to life.
Before founding Cedar House, Erika managed high-value brand portfolios, developing a strong foundation in strategic thinking, problem solving, and client relationships. Combined with a lifelong passion for real estate and residential design, that experience shaped the way she approaches every project.
Erika believes great design isn’t just about how a space looks — it’s about how it functions, how it supports daily life, and how it makes people feel when they walk through the door.
Growing up in a large family also deeply influenced her philosophy around home. To Erika, the best spaces invite connection — places where people gather, unwind, and create lasting memories.
When she’s not working with clients, you’ll likely find Erika at the beach, reading, traveling, or spending time with family.
