Hey there, this is Steph with my first blogpost! Fun fact, I love color and pattern especially in a fabric or wallpaper. There are two spaces in my home that have wallpaper, one typical (powder room) and one unexpected (stairs). Adding wallpaper to your home is a fantastic way to give your space some extra character and personality. Long gone are the impossible to remove wallpapers of your Grandma’s day. With modern options, wallpaper does not have to be a scaryor permanent design choice. Wallpaper will truly make a space, and once it’s installed, I promise you’ll be saying – Why didn’t I do that sooner?!

Shopping for wallpaper can be a little overwhelming with there are endless options and sources. As you’re browsing just make a note of which styles make your heart skip a beat. Is it floral or graphic? Colorful or muted? Playful or sophisticated? As long as you stay true to your gut feelings, you can’t go wrong. Spoonflower and Etsy are a couple of great places to start your search.

Here are some fun ways to incorporate wallpaper in your home…

A wallpapered powder room is sure to bring in lots of compliments from your guests. My personal powder room is the vibrant florals seen below, thanks to my hubby’s DIY skills.

Make a boring staircase stand out with peel and stick wallpaper. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face every time you head upstairs.  Look at the difference this easy DIY project makes to this space! This was a DIY dine in my home as well.

Before After

With a minimal amount of wallpaper, this simple project will add a pop of color to the back of a bookcase or the back of cabinetry. This idea is perfect for those who want to add a touch of personality to their space without committing to a full wallpapered room. Plus, with endless wallpaper options available, the possibilities for this project are truly endless. From bold prints to subtle textures, there is a wallpaper that fits every design aesthetic.

If committing to wallpapering the whole room has you second guessing, you can’t go wrong with an accent wall or make a small, awkward nook, feel like a special feature with wallpaper. For a more subtle approach, use wallpaper to line the inside of your drawers or cabinets. Not only will this add a pop of color or pattern to a otherwise mundane space, but it will also bring a smile to your face every time you open the drawer or cabinet.

We plan to sprinkle more wallpaper in our upcoming client projects as well as our own homes! We believe it’s a simple yet effective way to add personality and depth to any space. Julie is adding a bold and playful wallpaper to her new laundry room, while Erika is planning to add a more subtle, textured pattern to her powder room and pantry. My dining nook is also screaming for wallpaper and I am excited to find the perfect print for the space!

We are sharing some of our favorite wallpapers below to inspire your next project. From traditional to modern, bold to subtle, there is a wallpaper print out there for every style!
